WEDDING MUSIC
An ‘inspired’ wedding service is what prospective brides and grooms want to experience on this joyous and memorable occasion and that joy can be expressed through thoughtfully chosen words and well performed music.

The first step is to consult your vicar or minister; check that the resident organist and choir are available and are able to provide the music of your choice. If your family and friends are not regular worshippers, it will be inspiring to engage the services of a choir. If you bring in another organist it is usual to pay the resident organist’s fee.

There are professional organisations that specialise in providing musicians for wedding ceremonies, such as choirs, vocal soloists, trumpeters and instrumental ensembles. The musicians you choose will help you to select the music, taking into account any particular favourites you may have.

You will need to choose one or two organ pieces as your guests are arriving, followed by the Bridal procession, plus two or three hymns, and a choir anthem or other music during the signing and finally the Wedding March.

Do check the final arrangements with your vicar before printing your Order of Service sheets. Do be aware that if the ceremony is put on video, you will have to pay an extra fee.

Try to persuade your singer/musicians to attend the ceremonial rehearsal.

CHURCH BELLS

They may be included in a Church package, along with the organist and choir. You will need to check the availability of the bell ringers.
