  • Order drinks
  • Finish buying clothes for going away & honeymoon
  • Inform florist of number of buttonholes
  • Don’t miss dress/menswear fittings
  • Tell stationer number of order of service sheets/ place cards
  • Think about speeches
  • Write down special vows and readings and give to minister/registrar
  • Notify bank or other officials of change of name
  • Finalise plans with helpers
  • Book a cleaner to come in whilst you’re on honeymoon



TWO WEEKS BEFORE

  • Final fittings for clothes
  • Final check on all prior bookings
  • Wear shoes around the house
  • Start honeymoon packing
  • Attend ceremony rehearsal
  • Give photographer/videographer list of “must take” shots and people involved
  • Give a checklist to helpers


ONE WEEK BEFORE

  • Arrange collection of hire items
  • Make someone responsible for your wedding clothes
  • Finalise arrangements with hairdresser / beautician
  • Collect foreign currency/travellers cheques
  • Confirm arrangements for taking presents from the reception
  • Prepare a timetable for wedding day preparations
  • Arrange for snacks and champagne to be put in your hotel room for your wedding night
  • Have a romantic night/weekend - don’t talk “weddings”
  • Arrange for someone to check your reception venue on the morning of your wedding


THE DAY BEFORE

  • Treat yourself to a massage at a health spa
  • Give rings and monies for fees and tips to best man
  • Have luggage/overnight bags/clothes taken to hotel
  • Speak to all attendants
  • Relax and have an early night
  • Set your alarm


ON THE DAY

  • Give yourself plenty of time to prepare
  • Don’t miss breakfast
  • Have a glass of bubbly, but only one
  • Have a manicure and massage
  • Check bouquet, buttonholes and corsages have arrived
  • Have buttonholes delivered to ushers
  • Give make-up to mum or bridesmaid
  • Make sure best man has rings, copy of speeches, vows and readings, messages
  • Put your engagement ring on your right hand


DURING THE DAY


  • Have a fabulous time! Set aside 15 mins every hour to sit quietly together and soak up the atmosphere


AT THE AIRPORT


  • Tell them you’re on honeymoon - ask for an upgrade


HONEYMOON AT HOME


  • Have one, if only a few days at home
  • Tell everyone you’re going away so they leave you in peace
  • Fill the fridge with goodies
  • Get all the take-away menus
  • Order wine for home when you order for the reception
  • Buy/Hire favourite videos/DVD’s
  • Open your presents


AFTER THE HONEYMOON


  • Send “thank you” notes
  • Post or deliver cake to those not at wedding
  • Change name on legal documents, e.g. drivers licence
  • Give yourselves new things to look forward to
