   OUTFITS FOR THE MEN
& BOYS IN THE BRIDAL PARTY
To create the most stunning effect the MEN & BOYS will want to complement the Bride  with their choice of outfits
THE GROOM

Whatever style of wedding you and your bride-to-be have decided, when choosing your outfit you'll be spoilt for choice. This is your chance to makestrong impression.

  • Contemporary look
What better reason than your wedding to splash out on that new designer suit you've always promised yourself. Alternatively, hiring an expensive suit gives you the opportunity to be a little more daring. Pin stripes are always popular, for maximum effect, choose a striped shirt with matching tie. However, even the plainest city suit can be jazzed up with a waistcoat, cravat or tie in material and colours to match the theme or colours of the bride.
  • Traditional wedding
Choose the Morning Suit or Frockcoat. With a carefully chosen waistcoat and cravat, you will be able to create your own individual style for exactly the right effect. For a real touch of class, include a top hat, gloves and cane!
  • Modern & Formal
The high collared Nehru and three-quarter length jackets give a less formal look with a modern twist.
  • Black Tie
Though most suitable for a late afternoon wedding, is also considered a less formal alternative to traditional wear. A lightweight tuxedo in black or white is the obvious choice for the wedding abroad.
  • Custom Made
You may decide to have your formal wear custom made for you, especially if you will have occasion to wear it again. Otherwise, hiring is the solution, or a combination of both; maybe you'd like your waistcoat to be tailored in a particular fabric.
  • Armed Forces
If you are in the armed forces and you will be wearing full uniform, you will need to advise your attendants, on behalf of your bride-to-be, how you wish them to dress.
STEPS TO HIRING

Along with your bride-to-be, visit several of your local menswear specialists to seek their expert advice. Try on the different styles and see what suits you best and which feels the most comfortable.

The men (and the boys) in the wedding party, that is, yourself, the best man, the dads and the ushers, should wear the same style of clothes, though you can choose to have different fabrics.

You can hire all the accessories, right down to the shoes.  Take along samples of the material of the bridesmaid's dresses or colours.
  • If you are shopping on a Saturday during the summer months, there may be less stock available to try on, so a weekday may give you more choice.
  • To avoid disappointment, when you find the right combination, book it, especially if you are having a summer wedding.
  • It is usual to have at least two fittings. Your outfit will be ready for collection at least two days prior to your wedding to be returned a couple of days after, so remember to arrange this with your best man.
  • When you've made your choice, you can advise the other male members. They in turn will need to arrange fittings. If you all shop at the same location, or buy from the same national or regional retailer, chances are you can twist someone's arm for a discount!
THE PAGEBOY
Do take into account the personality of the little boy. A younger pageboy may be persuaded to wear a sailor or a Little Lord Fauntleroy outfit but the older he is the more likely he is to refuse! A safe bet will be to dress him in the same style as the other male attendants.

National costumes could be considered including the popular Scottish kilt - sporran, dirk and all. The colour of the pageboy's outfit could be introduced into the bridesmaid's flowers, so that all the outfits coordinate.
